About Ablerider Motorcycle Training

Able Rider Motorcycle Training Instructor

Ablerider Motorcycle Training was founded in 1980 and is the oldest professional school in the county. It is also among the first full time motorbike training schools in the country. We offer quality tuition according to the needs of the individual trainee not our bank manager. We run a full range of motorcycle courses, including; Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), Direct Access Scheme(DAS), Module 1, Module 2 and Instructor training. We have a motorcycle training site in Coalville is convenient to Ashby De La Zouch, Loughborough and Leicester in Leicestershire.

We cater for people who wish to take their motorcycle test at Leicester, Burton On Trent, Kettering and Nottingham. Motorbike tests are taken on one of our motorcycles which are maintained to the highest standards. We have an active bike night every Thursday evening at the Vic Bikers pub in Coalville where all are made very welcome.

Instructors

A school is only as good as its teachers and we are fortunate in having the most experienced training staff around.

Chief Instructor. Richard Moore

Able Rider Motorcycle Instructor

"I passed my bike test in 1981. After my time in the army (REME) I did 4 years as a motorcycle courier. An average week I rode 1500miles (in all conditions) I have followed trucks on the M6 at Shap Fell (with snow blowing horizontally) as they were lifted off their axles in cross winds. The longest days in the saddle without a break include London to Edinburgh and back. London to Leicester and back 4 times in the same day was another memorable one. Overall I have ridden more than 1000,000 miles without major incident. I have been a full time instructor since 1990 in which time I have personally taught in excess of 5,000 people to ride. I can also claim to have ridden through the millennium as I was on the M1 at Luton 12 Midnight New year's eve on the Varedero doing 70mph (cough!). My favourite biking activity is rides over to France with friends (or anyone that will get a round in!)" - Richard Moore
